Committees and Projects
Your partnership with the Chamber of Commerce has its own rewards, including exposure in the online business directory and programs that create a strong local economy, promoting the Cheyenne community, and representing business to the government. You’ll also receive a weekly digital update and the monthly newsletter, theCheyenne Business Monthly. Your membership allows you to attend Chamber events such as monthly luncheons and special seminars to help you improve your business.
On top of the many benefits afforded to members, many also choose to become involved in the various committees offered by the Chamber. If you’re interested in any of the following committees, call the Chamber at 307 638-3388 for more information.
BIZlink
These groups of members meet twice a month to network and create leads for each other. The groups may have one representative from each business category to ensure a noncompetitive atmosphere. Waiting lists have been established so new members may join as space becomes available. There is a quarterly charge of $16. For more information contact Sandi.
Cheyenne Young Professionals
Cheyenne Young Professionals allows newer members of the Cheyenne business community to meet and create contacts. Chamber membership is not required to join CYP. CYP meets at noon on the second Wednesday of the month and holds several social/networking events each year. Annual dues are $20 for employees of Chamber members and $40 for employees of nonmembers. Community Pride
This committee promotes a positive attitude about Cheyenne through community improvement, beautification, and citizen pride projects. Among other projects, this group is responsible for the Business Beautification Award, the Pride of Cheyenne Award, and the gateway signs at each entrance to Cheyenne. The committee meets at noon on the fourth Tuesday of each month. For more information, contact Rolinda.
Economic Reports Committee
This group is responsible for developing the Cost of Living report for Cheyenne in cooperation with the American Chamber of Commerce Researchers Association, plus other economic data on a regular basis. It meets quarterly to collect data. For more information, contact Dale.
Governmental Affairs Forum
This committee works with all levels of government to develop a business-friendly atmosphere. The meetings are open to all members of the public and address various political issues of Cheyenne and Wyoming. The group meets at noon on the third Friday of every month. Leadership Cheyenne
Leadership Cheyenne is a nine-month program involving approximately 1,000 hours of discussion to develop leadership skills and knowledge of the community. Applications are distributed in the spring and the class of approximately 22 is chosen during the summer. Tuition is around $625. For more information, contact Rolinda.

Junior Leadership
The Junior Leadership of Laramie County Program is designed to foster and develop the leadership skills and abilities of the next generation of leaders in Laramie County. It is a seven-month program that provides participants with both educational and participatory experiences, with opportunities to meet community leaders and network with a wide variety of people. The program also provides participants with an understanding of their community, its resources, issues and potential. Junior Leadership of Laramie County was the class project of the Leadership Cheyenne 1999-2000 Class.

Military Affairs Committee
MAC is a committee whose purpose is to maintain a harmonious and productive relationship between the community and all military units in the area. Members are selected annually from individuals who have expressed an interest. Annual committee dues are $150 and participation is requested to maintain a position in the group. MAC meets on the second Friday of the month at 11:30 a.m. For more information, contact Jennifer.

Red Carpet Committee
This committee serves as ambassadors to the Cheyenne community and Chamber members. The group holds ribbon cuttings and weekly receptions at local businesses to recognize additional investments in Cheyenne. Volunteers from this committee also assist with member relations at Chamber events. Annual dues of $50 cover the cost of monthly lunches. The committee meets at noon on the third Tuesday of the month and at 10 a.m. every Thursday. The Red Carpet Openings are announced in Chamber publications and ALL Chamber members are invited to attend openings for businesses that interest them. For more information, contact Ruby.

Small Business Council
This council is responsible for developing training, networking and sales opportunities for small business members of the Chamber with emphasis on small business owners and managers. This committee works on two trade shows a year and numerous award programs. It meets at 7:30 a.m. on the first Thursday of every month. Small Business Council oversees other committees such as BIZlink and Shop Cheyenne. For more information, contact Rolinda.
Shop Cheyenne
Shop Cheyenne is a subcommittee of the Small Business Council and is dedicated to marketing the Cheyenne business community as the first place to look when purchasing major items. Efforts include media relations, customer service efforts, and general awareness of goods offered in Cheyenne. This committee meets as needed. Contact Rolinda for more information.
