Dale G. Steenbergen is the President  & Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce. Prior career accomplishments include more than 18 years of successful management experience in Chambers of Commerce, Agri-Business operations and Small Business.  Dale's track record of streamlining organizations has lead to increased productivity and profits including a 48% membership increase in less than 3 years at the Dahlonega Georgia Chamber.  Dale’s policy expertise in local state and federal advocacy efforts have led to major improvements in policy regarding business and increased funding for needed local and regional projects.

In addition to his tenure in Cheyenne Dale has also served as the President of the Dahlonega, Georgia and Woodward, Oklahoma, Chambers of Commerce. Dale’s early career was spent in the cattle industry, where he held progressively responsible management positions at purebred cattle operations in Michigan, North Carolina and Texas. Dale and his family are the owners and operators of NS Bar Cattle ranch in Oklahoma and Wyoming. 

Dale received a BA degree in Political Science from Oklahoma Baptist University in 1991. He is a graduate of the Center for Chamber of Commerce Excellence, the Georgia Academy for Economic Development, and the Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce Management Skills Series. He is currently in the US Chamber’s Institute program.

He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Georgia Economic Developers Association and the Georgia Chamber of Commerce Executives. During his tenure with the Woodward Chamber, Dale was a member of the Board of Directors of the Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce Executives including serving as Secretary-Treasurer, the Prairie Heritage Alliance and the Prairie States Coalition Steering Committee. He was a graduate of Leadership Woodward and a member of the Woodward Rotary Club.

Dale and his wife, Sharon, have one daughter Grace.

Rolinda Sample, IOM, CCE has been the Vice President of the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce since 2003.  She is responsible for establishing and coordinating member programs for the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce.

Sample worked as executive director of the Laramie Wyoming Area Chamber of Commerce, program manager for the Norfolk Nebraska Area Chamber of Commerce, and executive director for the Kimball Nebraska Hospital Foundation.

Sample received the Certified Chamber Executive, CCE, designation in 2007. Sample is a graduate of Institutes for Organizational Management, and has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Peru State College in Nebraska. She is a graduate of Leadership Norfolk and Leadership Wyoming. She is also a member Wyoming Chamber of Commerce Executives Board of Directors and served previously as the President of the Board. She also served a President of Laramie Lions Club.

Sample currently is a grant writer for non-profit organizations, member of Boys and Girls Club of Cheyenne Board of Director, Rotary Club of Cheyenne, and volunteers with United Way of Laramie County, Parent Advisory Committee for Laramie County School District One, and Afflerbach School.

Rolinda and her husband, Terry, have a son named Trenton.  They have a Great Pyrenees named Elvis.


Sandi Baker

Sandi Baker is the Director of Financial Operations of the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Cheyenne Foundation.  Prior to moving to Cheyenne in 2004, she was an accountant for a large CPA firm in Casa Grande, AZ for several years.

She has been with the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce for over three years.  She is a graduate of Leadership Cheyenne, class of 2006-2007. 

Sandi grew up in Boulder, Colorado, and attended college in Glenwood Springs. She spent three years in Berlin, Germany, where she lived "on the economy" and learned to speak the language.

Sandi and her husband, Steve, moved to Cheyenne four years ago to help care for her elderly parents. They have three children and a grandson. Sandi enjoys fishing, golfing and playing the piano.

 


Laurie Farkas

Laurie Farkas is the Public Relations Director of the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce. Prior career accomplishments include more than 15 years of successful experience in the field of television broadcasting and public relations.

 

Laurie began her career employed with CBS New Channel Five in Cheyenne, where she served as Assistant News Director, feature Health Reporter, Producer and Main Anchor for the 5:30 and 10 news broadcasts. Laurie was also employed by EchoStar Communications, the parent company of DISH Network and was the Anchor/Producer of DISH Network News. 

 

 

Laurie left the business of television news in 2002, after starting her own marketing consulting business “Laurie Farkas Media Consulting.” She served as the Marketing Consultant for Wyoming State Treasurer, Cynthia Lummis, where she directed marketing efforts for “College Invest Wyoming” program. Laurie also served as Public Relations Chairperson for Wyoming Governor Dave Freudenthal’s 2007 Inauguration. Laurie has a demonstrated track record in the field of public relations and media consultation related to media buys, placement, and effective advertising to Wyoming businesses.

Laurie is proud to say she’s a Cheyenne, Wyoming native. She attended college at the University of Wyoming, majoring in Interpersonal Communication and Journalism. She served as Miss Wyoming in 1991, representing the state in the Miss America pageant in Atlantic City, NJ.  She is a graduate of the Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce Leadership Cheyenne program, is a past Chairperson of the Wyoming March of Dimes, she has served as speaker and master of ceremonies for numerous community programs.   

 

She is married to husband Steven Farkas and adores her two children; Alexandra age 11 and Austin age 10.  In her spare time, Laurie enjoys volunteering at her children’s school, hiking, snorkeling, jogging and is a proud soccer mom.


Jennifer Marks

Jennifer Marks is the Special Projects Coordinator at the Chamber. She will be working with the Chamber staff on background work for special projects including advocacy events and military affairs.

Jennifer is a native of Haltom City, Texas. She earned a BA in Public Relations from Baylor University in 2006. While in college Jennifer had the opportunity to work for the Walt Disney World College Program. She worked in a number of areas including entertainment and guest relations. In the Summer of 2004 she had the opportunity to study abroad with the Baylor in Great Britain program. Prior to her work at the Chamber, she was an event designer for Pendley Party Productions in Waco, Texas. There, she assisted with a number of corporate and private events including, “An Event for the Elegant Bride”, the Waco bridal show, Baylor University events and various community projects. Jennifer and her husband, Charles, enjoy entertaining with friends. She loves singing, traveling and spending time with her family.


Molly Box

Molly Box is the Administrative Coordinator at the Chamber. She is responsible for the administrative tasks for the Chamber and also works on the website and Governmental Affairs and advocacy.

Molly is a native of Cheyenne, WY. She attended the University of Wyoming and earned a BA in Political Science with a minor in French. While in college, she had the opportunity to study abroad in France and work in Yellowstone National Park. Most recently, she completed an internship for Senator Enzi in Washington, DC before returning to Cheyenne to work for the Chamber.

She is an avid fly-fisherwoman and artist, and spends most of her spare time at either one of these hobbies. She has participated in several local art shows, including the UW Student Juried Show. She loves to travel but is glad to be back living in Wyoming with her friends and family.

Ruby is the new Membership Director for the Cheyenne Chamber. She is new to the Chamber, but not to the small business world. She hopes to enrich the business community with the knowledge of how the Chamber is an asset to their organization.

Ruby was born and raised in Denver. She comes from a small tight-knit family very much like Cheyenne. She attended University of Denver-Colorado. She is the previous owner of two restaurants, a nightclub and has also worked in real-estate.

She enjoys spending her free time painting and going to art museums when not working for the Chamber.
